Jerry Uelsman

Jerry uelsman is an american photographer who is best known for his incredible surrealist film montages. He is a master printer producing composite photographs with multiple negatives and extensive darkroom work. In some of his photographs he used up to a dozen enlargers at one time.

I really admire his work because it is done on film in the darkroom which is much harder than the simple use of digital technology today. He has managed to create some striking and beautiful images in the surrealist categories. All his pictures have a magical feel to them which draws you into them and makes you look and study them for a long time.

  1. Hi, I am a photography student at Musselman High School in West Virginia, and we are e-mailing photographers. So, can you please e-mail me and explain to me some of your best artwork? Thank you so much.
